Senior Accountant
to join our fast-paced and exciting accounting team in our corporate office located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.
What is the opportunity?
The Senior Accountant position is responsible for assisting with coordination and preparation of month-end/quarter-end close cycles including 10-Q and 10-K SEC filings, reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing and posting journal entries, as well as ad hoc projects. The Senior Accountant position will interact with various levels of personnel/management. Independent work is required as well as a firm understanding of deadlines and responsibilities.
What are the primary responsibilities?
Assist with the accounting month-end/quarter-end close processes
Assist with preparing and reviewing 10-Q and 10-K SEC filings
Assist in the preparation of schedules related to footnote disclosures to the Company’s financial statements and consolidation schedules
Maintain active knowledge of upcoming and current SEC accounting standard updates
Manage a range of month-end/quarter-end close entries and prepare reconciliations for certain accounts
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with ad hoc requests, as necessary
Interact with various functions/departments including risk management, treasury, finance, tax, etc.
Serve as a liaison and develop/provide workpapers to internal and external auditors for requests during the annual audit and quarterly reviews
Identify and recommend opportunities to design and implement process efficiencies and assist in the development of such

Qualifications Does this describe you?
Possess a thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Motivated to improve processes and create efficiencies through leveraging technology and knowledge across departments
Have experience working with financial statements and supporting analysis
Have experience with account reconciliations and variance analysis
Able to multi-task and handle multiple priorities to meet established deadlines
Able to work independently
Do you have these qualifications?
Essential:
BA/BS in Accounting
2+ years of related experience
Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
Enthusiastic with strong communication skills and a team player
Public accounting or industry experience
Preferred:
CPA license, or actively working to obtain CPA license
Homebuilding or construction Accounting experience
Previous experience working in the Enterprise 1 system
Previous experience working with Workiva
Working knowledge of US GAAP
