Overview

The Iowa Insurance Division is recruiting an Insurance Complaint Analyst with a focus on Regulatory Compliance Investigations to work in the Market Regulation Bureau. The Market Regulation Bureau enforces Iowa Insurance statutes and regulations, providing consumer protection to the public against unlawful, dishonest, or incompetent market conduct. The Bureau regulates insurance companies, insurance agencies, insurance producers, public adjusters, appraisers, umpires, and other regulated individuals/entities market conduct. Responsibilities

Pursue regulatory enforcement referrals for administrative prosecution of licensed individuals/entities or informal resolution. Lead complicated investigations and analyze industry developments to help keep the Bureau’s initiatives streamlined and effective. Identify and document unfair, deceptive or unlawful conduct via in-depth investigations. Help develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the statutes the Bureau enforces. Benefits

Graduation from an accredited school of law. All of the following (a and b):

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree; and A total of three years full-time work experience in at least one of the following areas: i) Multi-line insurance adjusting or underwriting; ii) Investigating and recognizing violations of state laws or regulations and preparing cases proving such violations for presentation at administrative hearings; iii) Conducting research, analysis, interpreting, implementing or monitoring insurance regulations and insurance products and providing consultation and customer assistance and technical assistance to stakeholders; or iv) Business management and administration including: budget administration and analysis, regulatory and legal compliance, quality assurance, and customer service administration.

A total of seven years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. Current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of full-time work in insurance regulation. Additional information
