The Senior Accountant will manage the company’s accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and support property management and leasing activities. Approximately 10–15% of the role involves leasing-related responsibilities; prior lease accounting experience is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities
Oversee full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses. Manage AP/AR, fixed assets, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring. Collaborate with property management to ensure accurate allocation of expenses and revenue recognition. Support audits and tax filings while ensuring GAAP compliance. Leasing responsibilities (approximately 15%):
Review and track lease agreements for financial impact. Prepare and maintain lease schedules including rent escalations, CAM reconciliations, and tenant deposits. Work with leasing and property teams to ensure accurate lease data and reporting.
Collaborate with development, construction, and property management teams for project cost tracking and profitability analysis. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred. 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate. Prior exposure to lease accounting or leasing operations strongly preferred. Proficiency in GAAP accounting and financial statement preparation. Strong Excel skills; experience with real estate or property management systems a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
