The Coder is responsible for reviewing outpatient clinical documentation via Epic and 3M CAC for assignment of ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT-4/HCPCS procedure coding systems. The role requires knowledge of coding conventions and guidelines, including addressing commonly applied modifiers for hospital outpatient accounts. The coder extracts pertinent information from clinical notes, operative notes, radiology reports, laboratory reports (including Pathology), procedure records, and specialty forms, to determine complex code assignments for emergency visits and diagnostic workups. Remote Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required At least 2 years of relevant coding and abstracting experience in an acute care hospital Experience with Epic and 3M CAC systems preferred Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or equivalent (CCS or CCS-P) Accredited Coding Certificate from AAPC or AHIMA required Must reside in Georgia Additional Information
