Role Overview This hybrid engineering role offers the opportunity to work across both on-premises and cloud-based database platforms. You'll collaborate with architects, clients, and project teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data solutions. The position requires a strong foundation in Db2-LUW, cloud technologies, and automation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure reliability and availability of core on-prem Db2 databases (AIX-based).
Drive hybrid database architecture and cloud integration.
Develop and maintain Unix shell and Python scripts for automation and maintenance.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and support zero-touch deployment models.
Monitor performance using observability tools (ServiceNow, ELK, Dynatrace, DBI).
Collaborate in Agile/DevOps environments using Jira.
Apply ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge Management).
Top Skills Required
Db2-LUW (5+ years) – Strong hands‑on experience on AIX with file systems and SAN technologies.
Cloud & Automation – Experience with AWS and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible Tower) and infrastructure automation.
Communication & Independence – Ability to work through ambiguity, communicate effectively, and operate autonomously.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Agile/DevOps experience
AWS Certifications (basic level preferred)
Experience with Redshift, Elasticache, Athena, Iceberg, Databricks
Familiarity with CyberArk, Hashicorp Vault
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) background
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years in IT with database engineering focus.
Proficiency in Linux/AIX and shell scripting.
Experience with modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript).
Strong understanding of networking, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
Excellent problem‑solving and ownership mindset.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
