About The Role
As a Medical Director (Managing DVM), you will play a vital role in leading and mentoring the veterinary team, ensuring high standards of medical care, and driving the hospital’s long-term success. Key responsibilities include:
Providing medical leadership and oversight for the practice. Managing associate veterinarians and supporting their growth and development. Establishing medical protocols and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations. Partnering with hospital leadership to develop a strategic vision for the clinic. Leading team meetings, performance reviews, and staff development. Collaborating with a Regional Operations Manager to drive hospital growth and efficiency. Fostering a positive hospital culture that emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited program. Active Texas veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one). 5+ years of veterinary experience preferred. Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and inspire teams. Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage staff effectively. Commitment to high medical standards and ethical veterinary practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
