Overview
The Catholic Diocese of Memphis is seeking a Part-Time Hispanic Faith Formation Coordinator to support the faith formation needs of Spanish-speaking communities across West Tennessee. This role focuses on developing parish-level leadership and enhancing culturally appropriate formation and sacramental preparation programs, in alignment with diocesan priorities.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the evangelization team to integrate efforts across Spanish-speaking communities.
Recruit, train, and support parish-based facilitators for To Be in One Flesh marriage preparation workshops, ensuring program integrity.
Coordinate and assist with additional formation opportunities in Spanish and other languages as needed (e.g., retreats, family life, pastoral care).
Ensure all formation and sacramental preparation materials are available in both English and Spanish.
Identify and equip mentor couples and presenters to assist with sacramental preparation.
Communicate regularly with pastors, clergy, and parish staff regarding scheduling, referrals, and program feedback.
Qualifications
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, committed to the Church’s teachings and the sacrament of marriage.
Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written); able to lead training and formation in both languages.
Experience in Catholic pastoral ministry; marriage preparation experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Culturally competent with experience serving immigrant and multicultural communities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel to parishes as needed.
