Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will support the Controller in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support the month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger functions. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings. Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures. Participate in system implementations and process improvement initiatives. Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in manufacturing Familiarity with ERP systems and financial automation tools. Strong leadership and team-building skills.
