Staff Accountant: Government Contracting - REMOTE

Las Vegas, NV The Staff Accountant will work with the outsourced accounting firm to support the accounting functions of the Company. Must have recent and prior Full Cycle Government contracting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, attention to detail, and expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Extensive use of PROCAS Accounting, Timekeeping, and Expense Reporting Software in a DCAA-compliant environment for Government Contractors; Excel used for all functions within the Accounting and Finance Department.

Enter contracts into PROCAS with appropriate CLINs, labor categories, costs, points of contact, and other required contract data; read and interpret Government Contracts.

Enter employees into PROCAS and allocate CLINS/LCATS, hours, and rates to each employee using cost and pricing data, in coordination with the Program Manager.

Create and submit contract invoices into Wide Area Workflow and other government submission platforms.

Monitor payment portals weekly and provide AR reports to ensure Net 30 terms; record payments timely and follow up on unpaid invoices.

Validate and enter accounts payable for various contracts, task orders, and general operations of the company.

Assist with monthly close, including reconciliation of bank, payroll, credit cards, amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, posting revenues and expenses, and related tasks.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, P&L by Contract, etc.).

Provide support for quarterly and annual audits.

Analyze project costs/expenses for compliance with contractual requirements and Government regulations.

Review RFPs and proposal documents for compliance with customers’ specifications and company policy.

Develop and support cost proposals to government and commercial customers.

Review and maintain subcontractor insurance certificates, contracts, files, and related information per ISO 9001.

Maintain effective communication with colleagues, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and government agencies.

Assist with end-of-year tax documentation, including 1099s, apportionment, state and federal requirements, and sales/use tax.

Support special projects as requested and perform other administrative and analytical duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA candidate preferred. Experience:

Six (6) years of accounting experience, with at least three years in government contract accounting. Skills:

Expert knowledge of government contracting accounting, timekeeping, and expense reporting.

Experience entering contracts at the BPA or Task Order level and processing related modifications; creating and submitting invoices across government portals.

Experience with DCAA regulations, FAR, DFARS, GAAP, and government cost accounting.

Strong data analysis, reporting, and financial analysis skills.

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools; Procas or similar GovCon systems (Deltek or equivalent) experience preferred.

Ability to work independently, stay organized, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 – $100,000/year. This range is a general guideline and may be adjusted based on experience, certifications, and other factors in compliance with applicable laws. Work Arrangement:

Primarily remote with occasional travel to Las Vegas or other locations (up to five times per year). EEO Commitment:
