Position Overview The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a specialized focus on ASC 805 – Business Combinations. This role will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including financial reporting and integration of acquired entities. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and work closely with the finance team to support the company’s financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the accounting and reporting for mergers, acquisitions in accordance with ASC 805
Perform purchase price allocations (PPA), including valuation of assets and liabilities acquired
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Prepare and review journal entries related to business combinations
Assist in the integration of acquired entities into the company’s financial systems and processes
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and reconciliations
Manage accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures
Assist in the integration of financial systems and processes for new acquisitions
Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and financial performance
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
CPA certification or seeking is preferred
Experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with private equity-backed companies is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, QuickBooks)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity and professionalism
