This role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, accounting, budgeting, and compliance. $140,000 – $150,000 base + annual bonus (3 months’ pay equivalent) upon achieving 5 goals by March fiscal year-end Objective The Controller is responsible for managing financial operations and accounting activities for U.S. and Canadian entities. Key Responsibilities Manage financial operations and accounting activities for U.S. and Canadian entities. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow). Lead and mentor a team of 6: 3 senior accountants, 1 junior accountant, 1 credit manager, 1 credit assistant. Oversee AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and reconciliations. Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting processes. Monitor financial performance against budgets; identify and explain variances. Ensure tax compliance (U.S. state + Canadian) and partner with tax professionals. Coordinate financial audits (internal/external; full audit every 4 years). Conduct financial analysis and provide cost control and revenue improvement insights. Oversee raw materials and inventory accounting (minimum 3 years’ experience required). Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital management. Maintain and improve internal controls, safeguarding assets and ensuring compliance. Travel to Mexico (approx. 3–4 times/year) for oversight of operations. Support management in identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and profitability. Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership. Minimum 3 years’ experience with raw materials and inventory accounting (manufacturing background strongly preferred; panel industry experience a plus). Strong tax knowledge (U.S. state & Canadian). Familiarity with MFG Pro and Hyperion; advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Knowledge of credit analysis, financial statements, and credit risk assessment. Experience leading audits and external reporting. Strong leadership – able to mentor a diverse finance team while being hands-on. Willingness to relocate to a smaller city (superstar candidates considered with relocation package).
