Vaco Memphis is assisting their client with their search for an

Assistant Controller . Key Responsibilities

Support and coordinate with subsidiary Controllers/accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate monthly close and reporting. Prepare and review executive financial reporting packages, including consolidated income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast and provide commentary to leadership. Assist with audit preparation, including documentation and schedules, and serve as a primary point of contact with external auditors. Oversee the timely completion and accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations and standardized procedures. Assist with purchase accounting for newly acquired businesses, including fair value analysis and opening balance sheet entries. Support Corporate Controller with integration of new acquisitions, including implementation of new ERP, banking institution, and corporate credit cards. Partner with corporate accounting to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning efforts. Drive process improvements and consistency across entities related to financial controls and reporting. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting preferred Proven experience in strengthening internal controls and leading process improvements related to balance sheet reconciliations, with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Prior experience in HVAC, construction, field services, or private equity-backed environments is a plus. Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, and purchase accounting. Experience supporting financial statement audits and working with external auditors. Proficient in ERP systems (Viewpoint Spectrum, ServiceTitan, or similar a plus) and advanced Excel and Power Query skills. Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings to executive stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead across functions in a hybrid work environment. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
