– Exceptional career opportunity for a Tax Partner. We will consider either a current Partner, or a strong Senior Manager or Director ready to assume a Partnership role. Sales / practice development skills are not required as you will assume a very large book of business. The position offers a favorable work-life balance with a standard 36-hour in-office four-day work week during non-busy seasons. The candidate must either live locally or be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area for a fully in-office role with no hybrid or remote option. A preference is for a 10+ year seasoned tax professional strong in real estate limited partnerships, C and S corporations, fiduciary, and high-net-worth individual tax. Requires a CPA with strong staff management and training skills. A JD or Master’s degree in tax is a plus. Experience with BNA and Lacerte tax preparation software is preferred. The candidate should show an interest in entrepreneurship and collaboratively supporting other entrepreneurs.

Job Description

– Extreme technical competency in taxation, especially in individual, real estate partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax areas. Familiar with California and multi-state tax rules, Lacerte, BNATax, and ProSystem fx Projection software. Responsible for reviewing tax returns prepared by staff and occasionally preparing complex returns. Although not required, ability to generate and cultivate new business is a plus. Responsibilities

Review tax returns prepared by staff; prepare complex returns as needed. Provide leadership in training and mentoring staff; demonstrate strong interpersonal communication with clients and colleagues. Interact effectively with existing and potential new clients. Evaluate tasks and manage time to meet client needs beyond required hours when necessary. Support firm entrepreneurial goals and collaboration among practice group members. Qualifications

Current CPA license. 10+ years of experience preferred; strong in real estate partnerships, C and S corporations, fiduciary, and high-net-worth individual tax. Master’s in Taxation or JD a plus; law degree considered. Proficiency with Lacerte and BNATax tax software; familiarity with Projection software is a plus. Excellent writing, multitasking, leadership, and client-relations skills. Ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues; personable and resourceful. Benefits

Medical – 100% premium coverage for employees; dependent coverage at employee cost. PPO or Kaiser plans with employer HSA contribution of $2,500. Group life insurance up to $100,000; disability coverage at 60% of earnings. Nonmatching 401(k) with one-year waiting period; employer contribution to firm profit-sharing plan. Non-tax season hours: May 1 through December 31, Monday through Thursday, 9 hours per day with Fridays off. 20 days PTO; firm closures include 6 national holidays and the day after the April tax deadline; additional days for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur if they fall on a weekday. Professional dues and license renewal fees paid by the firm; continuing education as required. Reimbursable out-of-pocket expenses; candidates from high-quality local CPA firms preferred; consideration for Big-4/national firms or corporate tax roles as appropriate. Base salary potential of $200K – $400K. Note: Outside of tax season the firm is closed on Fridays; a nine-hour, Monday–Thursday in-office schedule is typical for a 36-hour work week, with a three-day weekend for most of the year.
