Summary Digital Turbine is seeking a highly skilled
Lead Revenue Accountant
to drive excellence in revenue recognition, reporting, and process transformation across our global AdTech platform. This role serves as a senior individual contributor (Radford P5 level) who combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong system and operational understanding.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and SOX requirements, leading automation initiatives in Oracle Fusion, and providing strategic insight into revenue trends to support executive decision‑making.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in complex, multi‑entity revenue accounting within a digital or SaaS environment, with the ability to lead initiatives, mentor peers, and partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, Sales Operations, and IT.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Accounting & Technical Expertise
Participate in the full revenue recognition process for contracts under ASC 606, including contract review, allocation, and deferral analysis, in partnership with the Manager, Revenue Accounting.
Develop and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures related to revenue recognition across multiple entities, currencies, and products.
Perform detailed revenue close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
System Ownership & Automation
Act as the functional lead for Oracle Fusion Revenue Management, driving automation, system enhancements, and data integrity improvements.
Partner with IT and business systems teams to optimize data flows between Oracle, Salesforce, and internal ad‑serving platforms.
Support UAT, documentation, and deployment for system upgrades and configuration changes impacting revenue reporting.
Analysis, Reporting & Insights
Deliver advanced, data‑driven insights into revenue performance, billing trends, and monetization metrics to senior finance leadership.
Build and maintain analytical dashboards and revenue models that forecast revenue and inform executive‑level decisions.
Partner with FP&A and Sales Ops to align revenue recognition with billing schedules, deal structures, and KPI reporting.
Controls, Compliance & Audit Readiness
Own and maintain specific internal controls over revenue recognition in alignment with SOX 404 requirements.
Lead quarterly and annual audit support for revenue‑related accounts and ensure timely and accurate responses to auditor requests.
Ensure all policies, processes, and documentation remain compliant with US GAAP and company standards.
Process Improvement & Leadership
Lead continuous improvement projects to streamline close processes, automate reconciliations, and enhance scalability for a high‑growth business.
Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for other revenue accountants, fostering technical growth and cross‑functional collaboration.
Partner with the Manager, Revenue Accounting and Director, Revenue to drive global revenue process standardization across subsidiaries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred or actively pursuing. 7–10 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead‑level role. Strong knowledge of ASC 606, US GAAP, and SOX requirements. Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems required; Salesforce and RevPro (or comparable revenue automation tool) experience highly preferred. Strong analytical and technical skills with proficiency in Excel, data manipulation, and large dataset analysis. Proven ability to lead projects and process transformations across cross‑functional teams.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to distill complex accounting topics for non‑finance stakeholders.
Experience in the AdTech, SaaS, or digital platform industries strongly preferred.
