Cost Accounting Manager - Rocky Mount, NC
Hubbell Gas Utility Solutions (HGUS) invites applications for the Cost Accounting Manager role located in Rocky Mount, NC. The position reports to the Division Controller and is a key member of the operations finance team.
Job Overview As Cost Accounting Manager, you will ensure accurate and properly maintained standard costs across multiple plants and product lines, support monthly financial closing and reporting, guide the operations management team, and maintain transparency within the Hubbell control environment.
Responsibilities
Key point of contact for the development of standard costs for multiple Enclosure BU plants on a daily and yearly basis
Month end financial closing including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
Ensure internal controls are routinely measured for effectiveness and identify risks where necessary
Support preparation of monthly forecasts and yearly operating plans
Perform quarter end cutoff activities
Compile monthly materials index to support indexed pricing to specific customers
Assist in providing information to internal and external auditors when necessary
Lead execution of annual physical inventories at multiple plants
Lead cycle counting program for the business
Provide financial support for projects including evaluation of capital requests (AFEs)
Provide ad‑hoc reporting and information as necessary
Support property and insurance reporting
Qualifications
4‑6 years manufacturing accounting experience
BS in Accounting/Finance required; CPA or CMA beneficial
Good working knowledge of standard costing procedures and inventory valuation
Solid knowledge of transactional accounting and internal controls
SAP and HFM knowledge will be beneficial
Able to perform and understand complex analysis
Expert level knowledge of Excel VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot Table functions
US GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley proficiency
Excellent communication skills
Ability to perform variance analysis and convey findings properly and accurately to varied audiences within the business unit
