Personal Financial Counselor; Whiteman AFB, MO 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families, including one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers or staff, conducting briefings and presentations, and providing referral resources outside the context of a counseling session. Works with installation leadership and POCs to ensure the program operates within scope and meets installation needs. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events per DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, secure video teleconferencing) as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision; share trends and issues from assigned installations. Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. May consider an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Ability to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
