This role is responsible for managing our compensation programs across all functions (Sales, Technical, G&A) and playing a critical part in designing, analyzing, and maintaining competitive and compliant compensation practices. This role will work cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, the Talent Acquisition Team, and business leaders to deliver meaningful insights and drive informed compensation decisions.
What you’ll do
Program Support & Market Benchmarking
Support the design and execution of our compensation planning cycles (annual, mid-year, and off-cycle) Benchmark compensation for new and existing roles using survey data and internal leveling frameworks Manage and submit annual compensation surveys (e.g., Radford, Mercer, etc.) Maintain and update compensation structures including salary ranges, bonus targets, and job architecture Assist in evaluating compliance across FLSA, Pay Equity, and Pay Transparency laws
Analytics & Modeling
Build compensation models to support salary adjustments, equity forecasting, and bonus payouts Partner with Total Rewards leadership to enhance compensation planning tools and workflows Analyze compensation trends and key metrics to guide decision-making Contribute to ongoing pay equity analysis and reporting
Cross-functional Support
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to provide market-aligned offer guidance Deliver compensation recommendations for promotions, transfers, and job changes Build reports, dashboards, and materials for HRBPs and leadership teams Help educate managers and employees on compensation processes and philosophy
What you’ll need
Required: 5+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, or HR analytics Solid understanding of compensation fundamentals (job leveling, benchmarking, pay structures) Strong Excel skills — advanced formulas, pivot tables, modeling Experience with compensation survey tools (Radford, Mercer, etc.) and HR systems (ADP WFN, etc.) Ability to be in our Framingham, MA office 2 days per week between Tuesdays and Thursdays Preferred: Compensation Certification Experience in technology and/or healthcare Competencies
Excellent communication and data storytelling skills Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills Highly analytical, ability to work independently and to learn new systems and processes quickly Why Definitive Healthcare
