Overview
Specialist-Asset Recovery and Collections, AACU Payment Collection and Recovery. The role is within the American Airlines Credit Union and is responsible for collecting on delinquencies while upholding the credit union's member advocacy mission. What You'll Do
Perform collections on consumer loans, credit cards, negative shares, mortgage loans, and control losses to the credit union Research information for litigation, foreclosure, decedents, and other collection cases Confer with assigned outside counsel on litigation and foreclosure matters Convey collection information via written correspondence and email Create and maintain detailed collection documentation of all accounts worked Answer calls on ACD lines during working hours in accordance with departmental policies Follow up on payment arrangements and broken promises to pay Update member information as needed Perform skip tracing and payment transfers Review all credit and loan documents on assigned collection accounts as well as membership cards Perform other duties as assigned Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account information and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act All You'll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: College degree in Business or equivalent field or equivalent industry experience Working knowledge of legal terminology and laws relevant to the role Previous collections experience; knowledge of FDCPA and the Texas Act Experience in financial/banking institutions with working knowledge of different products Skills: Microsoft Office, ability to review legal documentation, excellent oral and written communication, professional interaction at all organizational levels, independent work capability, time management, and multi-project handling Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks What You'll Get
