Experienced Waste Industry Controller - Tallahassee, Florida. This role at Waste Pro USA supports the Coastal Region spanning from Tallahassee to the Panhandle and into Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate will have waste industry experience and the ability to communicate and work closely with the Regional and Corporate Management Operations teams. Responsibilities

Support multiple facilities within an assigned region/territory as Regional Controller. Direct the financial affairs of the region in collaboration with regional business leaders, controllers, and other corporate leaders. Manage monthly accounting close, financial reporting, analysis, allocation methodologies, and general accounting activities. Consult with the RVP and managers on factors affecting financial performance, including costs, pricing, margin analysis, bad debt review, capital expenditure, reporting, and measurement. Conduct timely analyses (e.g., AR aging) and inform management of operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, variances, profit improvements, and cost reductions. Analyze trends and deviations from the budget, monitor spending, cash flow, and ROI; recommend course corrections to improve profitability as needed. Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, internal controls, and established finance reporting requirements. Coordinate the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data for periodic and annual statements; present progress with charts/graphs. Oversee the annual budget process and maintenance of operating and capital budgets to plan. Provide tax, insurance, and other regulatory reports as required. Review, develop, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports; present to management for decision-making and action. Ensure accurate accounting and consolidation of regional revenues, expenditures, assets, and inventory. Utilize financial/accounting automation tools to prepare, maintain, derive, and share data. Develop and consolidate short- and long-term plans for operating/capital budgets, business plans, expense forecasting, manpower plans, cost controls, and fixed asset controls for the region. Select, evaluate, and coach direct reports to ensure dependable and efficient operation of the function. Ensure integrity of transaction reporting to the general ledger and reconcile balance sheets monthly. Coordinate with external auditors on accounting/financial matters and respond to audit recommendations and related control matters. Coordinate activities across transaction processing (AR, AP, Payroll), financial reporting, general accounting, fixed assets, tax, LOB statements, risk management, budgeting, and financial systems. Support regional/divisional sales efforts with profitability insights, proforma analyses, pricing analyses, and data to support RFP responses. Play an active role in merger/acquisition due diligence, data management, pro forma development, and post-closing integration. Identify and implement cost reduction and profit improvement strategies. Qualifications

Experience in the waste industry with the ability to communicate effectively with regional and corporate leadership. Strong financial, accounting, and economic skills to evaluate operating data and detect business trends. Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools; ability to prepare and present financial statements that comply with industry practices and accounting principles. Ability to develop budgets, forecasts, and pro formas; experience with asset management and franchise fee evaluation is a plus.
