Job Title Senior HSE Advisor — Houston, TX (FLSA: Salaried Exempt). Travel 50–80% to support field operations. On-call to respond to HSE incidents, audits, and urgent operational needs.
Overview The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor plays a pivotal role in driving HSE initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance at our site. This role requires strong leadership and accountability to achieve short-term and long-term HSE goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement safety protocols, risk assessments, and procedures for activities including crisis management, hazardous waste management, and contractor safety.
Conduct site audits, oversee compliance assurance programs, and lead corrective action implementation.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on HSE issues to site management.
Drive initiatives to reduce hazards and prevent injuries at the site.
Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of HSE awareness and accountability among site personnel.
Manage chemical, regulatory, and environmental permits for the site and ensure compliance.
Plan and conduct HSE training sessions for employees.
Investigate incidents/accidents and develop action plans for prevention.
Maintain expertise in EHS regulations and provide support to the operations team.
Measure and track site HSE metrics, such as incident rates and training completion.
Serve as the primary contact with regulatory agencies on HSE matters.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and trends to anticipate site impacts.
Coach operations leaders to fulfill their HSE responsibilities effectively.
Support facilities team in identifying safety-critical equipment and developing maintenance plans.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science preferred (or a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant HSE experience).
Minimum 2–5 years of HSE experience, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience with Gensuite software preferred.
Ability to implement HSE programs and achieve measurable goals.
Strong self-management and organizational skills.
Prior experience in business continuity planning and incident management.
