A fast-growing, tech-forward insurance organization is hiring a
Senior Accountant
to support financial reporting and regulatory filings. This role reports directly to the Controller and is a key part of a small, collaborative accounting team within a dynamic and evolving business. The company is focused on retirement-oriented products and serves both domestic and international markets. With a strong emphasis on modernizing financial services, they are committed to simplicity, transparency, and partnership-driven growth. What You’ll Do:
Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and insurance regulatory standards Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities Support audits and examinations, ensuring timely and accurate responses Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes Analyze financial results and trends to support management decisions Assist with ad-hoc reporting and cross-functional initiatives What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of relevant experience in insurance or financial services Strong Excel skills; ERP system experience required (Sage experience is helpful but not required) Exposure to statutory reporting for life or health insurers is highly preferred Working knowledge of updated GAAP standards (LDTI or similar) is a plus Detail-oriented, organized, and a clear communicator Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
