A Network Administrator is a skilled and detail-oriented individual who is a confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, and in some cases developing communication networks within and between our organization to ensure high availability and optimal performance for users including staff, clients, and suppliers.

Network And Security Scope

LANs - Local Area Networks

WANs - Wide Area Networks

WLAN - Wireless Local Area Networks

SAN - Storage/System/Server/Small Area Networks

VoIP/SIP - Voice over Internet Protocol Networks

Position Responsibilities Include

Maintain the networking environment by defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards

Implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment

Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with architects and vendors

Investigate data network faults in local and wide area environments using multiple sources

Secure network systems by establishing policies and monitoring access

Support firewall environments in alignment with current security policies

Report network operational status and manage related projects

Coordinate and upgrade network, storage and server equipment to the latest stable firmware quarterly

Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted SIP voice services, and basic firewall settings

Configure and maintain storage and compute systems

Provide remote support for on-site engineers and end users during installations

Troubleshoot and resolve issues during initial installations

Manage IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers

Collaborate with project management, engineering, and service desk teams

Collect project requirements and design or maintain solutions for internal clients

Participate in group meetings to share project status and technical solutions

Document technical support provided on the help desk

Assist with technical documentation and quality assurance

Support software testing and updates where network performance is impacted

Provide after-hours helpdesk support, including on-call rotations

Mentor junior IT staff and cross-train team members

Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously

Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding project statuses

Qualified Applicants Will Have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred

Minimum of 6 years of network administration experience required

Strong customer service skills

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex software and hardware issues

Experience with network monitoring, log collection, proxy security solutions, firewalls, and IPS/IDS

Adaptability to changing priorities in a 24/7 environment

Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols

Commitment to maintaining security standards

Understanding of business and industry needs and technical demands

Customer-focused mindset and end-user service orientation

Excellent communication skills with non-technical staff

Attention to detail and ability to multitask

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Teamwork and collaboration across departments

Organizational and workload prioritization skills

Understanding of computer logic and troubleshooting

Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications

Ability to communicate issues to supervisors

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, type, and communicate verbally

Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

Must occasionally lift or move up to 50-100 lbs of equipment

Regular attendance is required

Travel required approximately 15% of the time
