We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Network Installation Engineer -
Field Technician
to support the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of network and communication systems for our telecom client. The role requires expertise in network installation, cable termination, fiber optics testing, and physical infrastructure management. The successful candidate will work across various commercial and industrial sites such as airports, shopping centers, stadiums, and more. Key Responsibilities:
Site Installations:
Conduct installations across various sites, ensuring proper mounting of access points on ceilings, walls, and poles. Ethernet & Fiber Installation:
Run and terminate Ethernet cables from Access Points (APs) to network closets (IDFs and MDFs). Test Wi-Fi and perform speed testing. Fiber Optic Testing:
Test fiber optic networks, identify the status of dark fiber, and analyze fiber connections using a light source. Cable Management:
Run cables through ceilings, walls, and raised flooring while ensuring proper cable management and adherence to building codes. Equipment Configuration:
Understand and configure network switches as part of system installations. Conduit Work:
Perform cable routing, including proper bending and installation of conduit. System Measurements:
Perform acceptance measurements using a spectrum analyzer, create system documentation, and generate measurement and maintenance reports. Technical Support:
Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; completed technical training in electrical engineering, electrical installation, or radio/television technology. Experience:
2-3 years of hands-on experience in network installation, including experience with Ethernet and fiber optic systems. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of
network installation
and
system configuration . Experience with mounting access points, managing cabling, and fiber optics testing. Familiarity with the use of
spectrum analyzers
for testing and troubleshooting. Knowledge of
conduit work
(bending, routing, and installation) and
cable management
best practices. Proficiency in testing and configuring
network equipment
such as switches and APs. General understanding of
Wi-Fi performance
and troubleshooting. Additional Skills: Familiarity with
Windows OS
and
Office applications . Knowledge in
radio frequency (HF)
or
mobile radio
systems is a plus. Certifications:
Class B or Class C driver’s license required. Seniority level
