Description
Planning bus routes and transportation schedules
Using computerized routing system, two-way radios and office equipment
Assisting Supervisors in dispatching driving assignments
Preparing comprehensive narrative and statistical reports, and maintain related logs
Participating in computer training and all other required company sponsored training
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Good attendance and punctuality record
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Proficient in computer use including Windows Office and preferably dispatch/routing
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Experience working as a member of the team
Experience with day-to-day functions of a school bus transportation office
Knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures, traffic laws and school bus regulations
Ability To
Plan and organize the route planning and dispatch services of the operation center
Operate office equipment, company vehicles and communication equipment
Interact positively with co-workers, school administration, students and parents
Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Meet schedules and time deadlines
Work independently with little direction
Work split shift and overtime as required
