Overview Belay Technologies is seeking a System Administrator to join our team. The selected individual will be responsible for maintaining system administration support activities for a large complex network environment with geographically distributed systems. The role supports solutions for system engineering requests that meet operational needs as well as upgrading and maintaining capabilities. The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple air-gapped systems with individual domains and supporting infrastructure, and with maintaining a complex IT environment with multiple logins and associated storage and network infrastructure. The role requires an energetic, focused, and driven individual who can adapt to a changing environment. Strong system administration and troubleshooting skills are required, with the ability to adapt quickly in working with the team on various system administration network-centric tasks.

Responsibilities

Install and administer systems, applications, and processes, ensuring issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

Optimize server and desktop configurations for continuous and efficient operation.

Perform security management and application performance optimization functions.

Administration/sustainment of a system providing a web-based application for storing, sharing, and distributing information.

Create and maintain complex server enclaves, including analyzing system scanning reports, patching, cert renewals, vulnerability management assessments, and Active Directory configurations.

Identify and correct hardware and software issues.

Respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems and develop re-work solutions.

Create and maintain documentation of complex server/network environments to ensure clear and accurate information for incident resolution.

Communicate with users and external support personnel regarding system outages and upgrades; confer with upper management regarding recommended resolution options.

Candidates should have the following qualifications

TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph within the past 6 years; no CCAs.

At least 8 years of relevant experience.

Experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff (developers, testers, engineers, etc.).

Proficiency with Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019, and Active Directory.

Experience with Linux and Microsoft-based servers and workstations.

Experience with Windows 2019.

Experience with OS and Application Hardening to include DISA, Best Practices, and High Assurance environments.

Experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, operating systems, and basic system backup and restore functions.

Experience or familiarity with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.

Experience with Red Hat 7 and 8, and VMware.

Experience with Apache Tomcat, IIS, and/or SQL Server database.

Experience documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification.

Solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards.

Experience with Network Security Technologies (e.g., multiple domains, PKI, SSP, vulnerability assessment).

Experience with High Assurance platforms and application integration testing methods.

Experience with both Client and Server virtualization environments.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and reimaging hardware.

Experience with disk arrays, PowerShell and PowerCLI, KVMs.

Knowledge of PKI systems using HSMs to validate keys and NTP synchronization.

Experience optimizing system operations.

Solid understanding of information security principles and practices.

Experience or familiarity with software and security architectures.

Experience or familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems, VMware, and Networking (Switches, Routers, LANs, cabling).

Ability to support occasional day or short-duration travel, if needed.

Desired skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field.

Proficiency with SQL Server.

Middle Salary Range: $114,000 to $164,000. Senior Salary Range: $164,000 to $200,000.
