1. Job Purpose
1.1 Oversee all aspects of security at the Data Centre (DC)/Data Recovery Centre (DR) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, and non-repudiation of the information technology services on a 24*7 basis to prevent potential information security breaches.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
2.1 Oversee, maintain, and regularly monitor all security-related components/infrastructure; ensure hardening of critical systems with initial configuration and creation of backups to ensure data protection.
2.2 Maintain the Virtual Private Network (VPN) gateway and monitor the availability of local and remote VPN gateways to meet stakeholder requirements; monitor VPN tunnel delays for potential breaches and liaise with the network team to detect slow VPN connections and take corrective actions.
2.3 Monitor network-based Intrusion Prevention System (NIPS) 24*7 to prevent network attacks; analyze attack attempts, identify vulnerabilities, and propose preventive and corrective actions. Obtain formal agreement from stakeholders regarding scope and requirements.
2.4 Ensure any system changes, such as patches or configurations, are tested for security vulnerabilities before deployment.
2.5 Ensure compliance of patch management services with security policies and standards; evaluate the stability of patches and verify system stability post-installation.
2.6 Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on web applications, operating systems, and databases; remove non-essential tools and utilities, and harden systems by activating and configuring security features.
2.7 Manage logs from hosts, network, and security devices; investigate security incidents, monitor user and resource access, and ensure event correlation and compliance reporting.
2.8 Utilize various protocols to collect distributed data for event analysis and suggest preventive measures.
2.9 Perform multi-stage event correlation by analyzing disparate events to identify significant security events.
3. Required Skills and Experience
3.1 Essential
3.1.1 4-6 years of relevant experience, with certifications like CCSP or equivalent, and experience in perimeter security such as firewalls and NIPS.
4. Qualification
4.1 Essential
4.1.1 BE/BTech/MCA/MSc from a recognized university
4.2 Desirable
4.2.1 Master’s degree or diploma in Computer Applications or Computer Science.
