Prepare and coat manufactured parts for production, and use tools and equipment needed to perform coating operations in an industrial setting. Be a team player with strong listening and communication skills. Operate a wet paint Graco system to spray industrial paint finishes on metal and other surfaces. Inspect painted units for runs, debris, fisheye, and uncoated areas; ensure coating thickness, hardness, gloss, and color conform to specifications. Inspect and replace components on paint guns to ensure optimum performance. Perform daily checks and maintenance; assist in daily 5S and cleaning procedures. Clean booths, conveyors, spray heads, hoses, and replace air filters as required. Respray inside the paint booth as needed and touch up defective areas of coated items. Assist other operators and team members in solving quality and production issues. Other duties as assigned or required. What we offer
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is between $18.50+ per hour. Benefit coverage begins on day 1, including medical/dental/vision and several supplemental options at low rates. The actual hourly rate offered may be influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and location. First Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of powder coat experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment Knowledge of coating principles; ability to identify and correct issues such as fisheye, poor adhesion, or rough coatings Ability to set, read, and use measuring instruments such as viscosity testers and thickness gauges Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches Ability to interpret specifications and standards to determine color, coating thickness, mixing instructions, and other factors affecting finish Ability to use tools and equipment required for coating operations in an industrial setting Good listening and communication skills; ability to work well in a team Typical day
Prepare (mask and clean), coat, and finish metal and other surfaces Operate wet paint Graco system to spray industrial finishes Inspect coatings for runs, debris, fisheye, and uniform thickness; ensure conformance to specified color Inspect and replace paint gun components for optimal performance Perform daily checks and maintenance; support 5S and cleaning procedures Maintain booth cleanliness and ventilation equipment; assist others as needed Physical and work environment
The role requires standing, walking, talking, hearing, handling, reaching, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to production activities, machinery, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic. Personal protective equipment will be used to prevent exposure to hazards. Mental demands include reading and interpreting data, solving problems, applying math, and collaborating with others.
