Overview
The Self Clearing Broker Dealer Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Company, provide leadership and coordination of company's broker dealer network. Partner effectively with Corporate Accounting, Broker Dealer Accounting, Internal Control over Financial Reporting, and other stakeholders. Ensure company's accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Prepares internal and external financial report regulators for Self Clearing Broker Dealer
Works with Executive team sunmarize, plan and forecast the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings.
Works with individual broker dealer accounting manager, Technical Accounting and Reporting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.
Works with legal and compliance for contingent losses.
Works with Treasury to determine dividends and net capital requirements.
Prepare various regulatory filings for FINRA, CFTC, SEC & Federal Reserve as required
Monthly variance analysis on all legal entities covered
Monthly accounting responsibility for certain balance sheet and P/L accounts
Participate in the preparation of annual audits of entities as required
Prepare senior management updates for Risk and Board meetings as required
Participate in legal entity initiatives, entity risk management, application of new accounting requirements and creating standardized control processes.
Strong understanding of and experience in US GAAP financial reporting
Series 27 preferred
CPA preferred
Financial services industry experience at a Self Clearing Broker Dealer
Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
Strong PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
