Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Accounting Manager – Inventory Accounting

to join our finance team. This hybrid role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in inventory accounting, preferably within a large organization that sells tangible goods. In this key leadership position, you will take ownership of all inventory-related accounting functions and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and compliance across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, cost accounting, and reconciliations Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions and costing methods Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Analyze and report on inventory-related metrics such as shrink, obsolescence, and slow-moving inventory Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies related to inventory accounting Manage physical inventory counts and cycle counts in partnership with warehouse and operations teams Provide leadership and technical guidance to staff and cross-functional partners regarding inventory-related accounting policies Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and implementing recommendations Continuously evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and controls related to inventory accounting Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum

7–10 years of progressive accounting experience , including

significant experience in inventory accounting Prior experience in a

large corporation

that sells

tangible goods

(e.g., retail, manufacturing, distribution) is required Strong understanding of US GAAP, inventory costing methods (FIFO, weighted average, standard costing, etc.), and internal controls Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments Prior experience managing or mentoring a team is a plus Work Environment & Benefits:
