Housing Specialist The Housing Specialist performs accurate rent calculations and reviews Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) documentation to ensure program eligibility and compliance with regulations. Collaborates with staff and landlords to resolve issues, maintains detailed records, and provides support across the program as needed. Job Responsibilities Responsible for performing timely and accurate rent calculations for current or prospective clients with a Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract; Responsible for collecting and reviewing Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) documentation to determine its accuracy for program eligibility; Responds to inquiries and resolves calculation issues efficiently, consulting with supervisors as needed; Maintains up-to-date and accurate client files, departmental files, and databases per agency policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements; Assists other program staff as needed; Works collaboratively with program staff and landlords to resolve rent calculation issues; Knows and complies with relevant laws and regulations. Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Physical Requirements: Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day; Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds; Climb up to 5 flights of stairs; Lift up to 25 pounds. Additional Requirements: Background check, including program-specific requirements; Physical examination; Drug testing; TB testing; Driver's license and reliable transportation; Agency-specified automobile insurance. 3+ years of subsidized housing experience; Minimum:

1-2 years of subsidized housing experience. Certification/Licensure: Preferred:

Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) certification; Minimum:

Must obtain COS certification within the first year of hire.
