Product Insights Analyst, Consultant - Healthcare Data role within the Product Strategy Insights Analytics team supporting the Product Strategy and Marketing teams with analytical and financial modeling for product development activities at Blue Shield of California. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Product Strategy Insights Analytics. The team provides insights to strategists to inform strategies and supports work to make healthcare affordable through data analysis, cost of healthcare modeling and forecasting in a healthcare environment. The role includes translating stakeholder business problems into end-to-end analytic solutions, gathering requirements, wireframing models or dashboards, and building statistical models. You will lead complex analytics to uncover performance drivers, identify trends, and forecast outcomes. Responsibilities

Understand stakeholder business problems and develop requirements for analytic solutions; wireframe the solution which may be a model, analysis, or self-serve dashboards. Lead the development of complex analytics products with minimal guidance to support product strategy, such as product performance evaluations, network performance monitoring, and cost savings modeling for Blue Shield of California. Perform advanced statistical and machine learning analyses to inform performance opportunities. Collect and evaluate data, develop and maintain financial models, analyze results, and conduct scenario analyses to estimate the cost of healthcare savings and support cost/benefit analyses of alternative actions. Reconcile data results from different sources and create integrated reports spanning cost, quality, utilization, and risk profile metrics. Partner with key business partners in BSC and other health plans to communicate actionable insights from Experience Analytics, including performance drivers and forecasted performance. Participate in internal workgroups and stakeholder meetings to provide analytical insight for implementation and enhancement of new programs, products, and services. Collaborate with operational leaders to establish credible assumptions for modeling proposed initiatives to mitigate healthcare cost trends while maintaining or improving quality of care. Analyze data to identify opportunities to improve healthcare quality, reduce costs, and enhance member outcomes. Present complex insights to executive leadership and key stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner. Develop predictive models to guide product development and enhancements. Bring passion for solving complex healthcare challenges that improve member experience. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in data science, data analytics, health informatics, statistics, engineering or related quantitative fields; Master’s degree preferred. At least 7 years of prior relevant experience in data analysis with at least 2 years in Healthcare (provider, managed care, academic, or government payer). Advanced knowledge of healthcare data and managed health plan operations. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools; understanding of statistical methods and advanced modeling techniques. Proficient in experimental design and A/B testing. Proficiency in the following technical skills: SQL and programming (Netezza, Oracle, Python, SAS); Tableau for self-serve dashboards; Statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, margin of error, and confidence intervals. Preferred proficiency in applied statistics or data mining using Python/R, and experience with advanced analytics and machine learning. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex information to executive leadership and stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with and lead stakeholders across diverse functions and experience levels. About the Team and Company

We balance purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. The workplace model emphasizes hybrid work with in-person collaboration as appropriate, and supports remote arrangements for certain roles. Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above), with exceptions for member-facing and approved remote roles. Employees living more than 50 miles from assigned offices should plan periodic office visits with their managers. On-site: Four or more days per week for roles requiring in-office work.
