Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This position is responsible for a variety of fiscal duties including, but not limited to, analysis and reporting of financial information for both internal and external purposes; preparing and presenting detailed information; reconciling financial information between sub ledgers, general ledger, and reports; analyzing and evaluating financial data for University management. This position assists in the planning, testing, implementation and support of enhancements to the Commitment Control, Commitment Accounting, and General Ledger modules in the Financial Management System and OneUSG Connect.

Knowledge and skills with creating and managing queries for financial data.
Accounting experience with knowledge and understanding of account types.
Ability to work independently on complex issues.

Duties/Responsibilities 1) Analysis, triage, and resolution of issues in the Commitment Control (KK) module of Peoplesoft Financial Management System. Participate in the planning, testing, and deployment of KK module changes and enhancements including annual PUM upgrades.
2) Analysis, triage, and resolution of issues in the Commitment Accounting (CA) module of PeopleSoft HCM/OneUSG Connect. Collaborate with the UGA AIS Testing & Release Management Team and the USG Testing & Release Management Team to plan and test changes, enhancements, or upgrades. Develop test scenarios, test cross-functional impacts, perform system integration testing, and resolve issues discovered in testing. Provide detailed documentation.
3) Develop and maintain CA training and reference resources for Campus users and lead some training sessions.
4) Review and approve Change Position Funding requests, Express Direct Retros, and Payroll accounting adjustments for timely processing to ensure compliance with university policies. Assist as needed in reviewing and approving these transactions.
5) Reconcile payroll transactions, journal generation, and reconciliation between OneUSG Connect and the UGA Financial Management System. Verify payroll data is journal generated in FMS and resolve data discrepancies.
6) Post journals in the UGA Financial Management System created from OneUSG Connect data.
7) Analysis, triage, and resolution of issues in the General Ledger module. Serve as a resource to other modules on GL-impacting issues. Plan, document, test, and deploy GL enhancements or changes, including PUM upgrades.
8) Compile and analyze financial data in the Commitment Control, Commitment Accounting, and General Ledger areas using query tools. Prepare and evaluate financial reports and information, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and reconciliations.
9) Work with other central departments to determine entries for payroll activities; enter accounting adjustments in OneUSG Connect; coordinate Budget Planning and Salary Setting position funding data testing and production validation; and coordinate year-end close activities for Commitment Accounting. Answer questions from the campus community.
