Senior Accountant

Overview Senior Staff Accountant | Hybrid in NYC. Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a national nonprofit organization named one of the Top 50 Nonprofits to Work For to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for their NYC-based finance team. This role offers a blend of mission-driven work, technical depth, and strong career visibility. This is a hybrid role supporting a fast-paced, collaborative finance environment. Base pay range $96,000.00/yr - $102,000.00/yr

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field

5+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting or financial analysis

Familiarity with ASC 606 and/or ASC 842 is a plus

Strong Excel skills and comfort navigating reconciliations and financial systems

Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid setting

Responsibilities

Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting

Manage intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and fund transfers

Support budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and explanations for leadership

Oversee project time tracking allocations across subsidiaries

Ensure revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606) and participate in contract review

Assist with audits, general ledger maintenance, and T&E reporting (Ramp)

Provide oversight and support to bookkeepers on daily transactions and reconciliations

Maintain balance sheet accounts, prepaids, accruals, and detailed backup
