The DeLco Crop Insurance team is expanding. This is a great opportunity to join a long-standing, family-owned business with state-of-the-art grain facilities and a growing agronomy business across multiple states. Responsibilities
In this role, the Crop Insurance Agency Underwriter is responsible for the service, support, processing, and underwriting activities of DeLco Insurance Group. Focus on accurate data entry and verification of crop insurance information, with emphasis on detail, accuracy, and time management. Serve as a business partner to insurance agents and customers; act as a business resource throughout the year. Collect, process, and verify insurance documents in compliance with program rules with accuracy and timeliness. Review and underwrite crop insurance applications, acreage reports, and production history. Maintain a solid understanding of federal crop insurance program guidelines and apply underwriting knowledge to daily tasks. Communicate clearly and promptly with agents, customers, and Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) staff. Monitor deadlines to ensure policies and documents are completed within required timelines. Identify and resolve discrepancies in submitted documents or reports. Support agency operations through service and processing tasks as needed – including mapping, quoting, etc. Maintain internal files; work with the Agency Underwriting Manager to identify best practices for workflow and provide training to others as needed. Provide current and historical crop insurance documents, reports and quotes upon request of management, Agents and/or AIP staff. Collaborate with other DeLco Insurance Group team members and Delong personnel to coordinate grower correspondence and events. Qualifications
1 year previous customer service experience. 2+ years of crop insurance experience. Proficient in technology: computer and mobile devices; Microsoft Office suite; AIP software and applications. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet strict deadlines. Passion for agriculture and desire to help protect America’s farm families. Must be able to perform basic office tasks in a typical office setting. Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent agricultural/sales related work experience required. Resident State Property & Casualty Insurance License (or ability to obtain within three months of hire). Non-resident State Insurance License (when applicable). Current FCIC Certifications. Travel may be required; valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance may be required. Details
