seeking a Sr. Cost Accounting Analyst to support the company’s high growth in the North American market.
The company is known for high-profile projects such as its work on the 9/11 memorial site in New York City, as well as its products for the commercial and residential building market. The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst role is critical in developing and maintaining accurate cost standards, analyzing manufacturing variances, and providing strategic insights that support operations, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities and Key Functions
Standard Cost Development & Maintenance Establish, update, and monitor standard costs for all manufactured products, including materials, labor, and overhead. Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to ensure accurate and timely updates to cost standards based on design and process changes. Support the Sales Team quoting activities and new product development initiatives. Cost Variance Analysis Analyze manufacturing cost variances and provide root cause analysis and actionable recommendations. Monitor inventory valuations and reconcile cost differences between standard and actual financial data. Meet regularly with Operations to review performance and provide guidance and insight to improve results. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings with detailed cost accounting reports and streamline administrative processes. Prepare and present insightful financial and operational performance metrics to support strategic decision-making including capital project analyses. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes related to cost of goods sold and manufacturing operations. Track Manufacturing KPIs and provide guidance and interpretation. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Assist with process documentation, policy review, and updates. Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts. Owner of inventory valuation. Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness. Continuous Improvement and Operational Support Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Contribute to operational excellence initiatives by providing cost impact analyses What We Expect from You Your experience & education BS, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CPA, CMA is a plus) Min. 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably with custom or engineered to order products. Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting. Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines. A hands-on, open-minded, versatile, enthusiastic can-do attitude while embracing change.
