Finance Manager Location: New York, NY Base Salary: 100,000 to 125,000 USD plus bonus

The Company A recognized consumer brand operating a nationwide store network alongside a scaled online platform.

The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will own month-end delivery for a business line and provide clear analysis on sales, margin, inventory, and store and channel profitability. The role works closely with regional operations, merchandising, digital, and logistics to support performance management at site level and across the wider network.

Key Responsibilities

Managing month end activities for multiple categories across the store and e-commerce network including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

Preparing management accounts, dashboards, and commentaries by region and site covering sales, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash flow.

Running disciplined retail margin analytics including mix, pricing, markdowns, promotions, freight, returns, and shrink with clear actions.

Owning inventory accounting and reporting. Track stock turns, GMROI, weeks of supply, and aged inventory. Coordinate cycle counts and provisioning.

Building and maintaining store and channel P&Ls in line with the commercial teams focusing on KPIs such as comp sales, traffic, conversion, basket size, fulfilment cost per order, and return rates.

Partnering with merchandising on open to buy, assortment, pricing, and clearance within established governance.

Leading the budget and rolling forecast process with driver-based assumptions across stores and digital.

Preparing business cases for refurbishments, relocations, and new sites with post implementation reviews.

Strengthening internal controls and supporting SOX compliance as required and providing ad-hoc support to audits.

Enhancing reporting quality and efficiency across ERP, POS, OMS, and BI tools with a focus on standardization and data integrity.

The Candidate

Newly qualified accountant such as CPA or international equivalent.

3 to 5 years of experience in accounting with a keen interest in multi-site retail or consumer e-commerce.

Solid understanding of US GAAP and controllership.

Advanced Excel skills with the ability to model sales, margin, and inventory dynamics and reconcile large data sets.

Familiarity with ERPs and retail systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, POS platforms, OMS, and planning tools like Anaplan. BI experience in Power BI or Looker is a plus.

Clear communicator who can partner effectively with store operations, merchandising, and digital teams.
