Description Summary Grants Accounting Analyst role at Hudson Valley Community College. Responsible for managing restricted accounts, timely financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field with 4 years experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years experience. Prior experience with grants and contracts and/or higher education preferred. Strong accounting, budgeting, Excel skills, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
Utilize Ellucian Banner database to complete accounting, fiscal reporting, and billing activities for all restricted accounts.
Analyze restricted accounts within General Ledger following procedures and schedules.
Set up budgets in the General Ledger and track expenditures to ensure they stay within allocated budgets.
Support review and approvals of restricted account and grant-related purchase orders and payroll authorizations.
Maintain restricted account and grant receivables, run aging reports, and follow up on outstanding payments.
Review budget information in grant proposals and assist project directors with fiscal grant questions.
Calculate and record grant-related fringe benefits.
Prepare restricted and grant schedules for the college’s annual financial audit and collaborate with auditors.
Draft quarterly and final federal financial reports in accordance with grant requirements.
Collaborate on the evaluation and implementation of new financial tools and related operational tools.
Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Grants & Contracts Administration.
Compensation This is a full-time 12‑month position with a salary range of $49,000.00 to $52,000.00.
