Job Summary Exegy is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team on a contract basis with potential for full-time hire. In this role, you’ll support critical accounting functions including revenue recognition, AR, general ledger reconciliations, and more. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully while we assess long-term fit for potential transition to a permanent role. This is a hybrid contract role based in our St. Louis, MO office. Responsibilities Review sales contracts and reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)

Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue streams to ensure proper revenue recognition

Prepare weekly cash management and payables reporting

Perform revenue cost accounting and reporting activities on a monthly basis

Perform month-end account reconciliations

Perform inventory management

Resolve revenue related issues and follow-up on outstanding items

Assist in financial audits and implement audit recommendations

Review and recommend improvements to current revenue recognition strategies

Prepare documentation for all revenue related activities

Research sales tax laws and regulations as needed

Communicate effectively with staff as well as the various departments that play a role in the billing and revenue recognition functions

Inform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of potential business decisions they are responsible for making

Prepare and submit compliance reporting and filings

Use tax, business licenses, annual reports/filings, etc.

Contract Details Employment Type: Contract (1099)

Duration: 3-6 months with potential to convert full-time based on performance and business need

Work Schedule: full-time, hybrid

Our Ideal Candidate Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

7+ years of experience in accounting roles

Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite proficiency preferred

Demonstrated advanced experience with accounting and spreadsheet software, especially Excel

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

Interest in long-term opportunities and a desire to grow within a high-performing finance team

Self-motivated, flexible, deadline focused and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

Acute attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
