We are excited to be adding a Controller to the MAC Trailer Team. The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company including the production of monthly financial statements and other monthly reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting transactions and records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. What you will do: Managing the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of the business results for the company. Coordinating and preparing internal monthly and yearly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Preparation of reports required by the external auditors and any regulatory agencies. Preparation of timely monthly projections using sound assumptions. Preparation of budgets with supporting documentation using sound assumptions. Providing management with timely updates of the company’s financial status and financial performance in its business operations. Managing the daily cash flow requirements for the company. Coordinating daily activities with both the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments. Ability to assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes. Providing management with timely information vital to the decision-making process and offering recommendations for increased company performance. Developing and monitoring business performance metrics and daily communicating this information to management. Ensuring compliance with processes, procedures and specific directives of the functional department Director. Other duties as assigned. Who you are: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Thorough understanding of the company’s general accounting procedures and GAAP. Strong understanding of consolidation accounting and intercompany transactions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and accounting software are essential to the position. Ability to manage confidential information. Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university preferred; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to function and facilitate job duties at various affiliate locations when need is required.
