First Party Property Insurance Defense Litigation Supervisory Attorney (323/o)

Established insurance defense, insurance regulatory, complex commercial litigation, and business litigation firm is seeking a supervisory level attorney to join their First Party Property Insurance Defense team in their Sunrise, FL office. Applicants MUST be very well-versed in the area of First Party Property Insurance Defense Litigation as this position has its own caseload and also oversees associate attorneys. Responsibilities include but not limited to handling litigated cases on behalf of the firm’s clients, researching legal issues, counseling clients, negotiating the resolution of legal disputes, and appearing in court on litigated matters to prosecute and defend clients’ interests, as follows: Supervising associate attorneys and overseeing a high-volume caseload to ensure cases are effectively prepared for trial. Serving as first chair trial counsel in First Party Property Insurance Defense litigated matters. Advising insurance company clients on litigation strategies, risk exposures, claims liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, and legal rights and obligations. Interpreting laws, rulings and regulations in client matters. Preparing legal documents on behalf of clients. Researching cases by interviewing witnesses, reading depositions, reviewing evidence and speaking with the client to determine the best strategy for defense. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Attending all pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advising clients following each hearing about the best strategies. Presenting and summarizing cases to judges and juries; planning and presenting arguments and counter-arguments in a court of law. Negotiating settlements. Developing company policy and position on legal issues; researching, anticipating and guarding company against legal risks. Guiding managers and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations. Structuring, drafting and reviewing reports and other legal documents. Performing administrative and managerial functions related to the practice of law. Maintaining client relationships. Must have a Florida bar license in good standing Must have a minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience including being very well-versed in the area of First Party Property Insurance Defense Must be willing and able to oversee and supervise assigned associate attorneys, previous supervisory experience preferred Must have excellent research and writing skills Must have excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
