Location : AdventHealth Daytona Beach, 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 The role you'll contribute The QA/Educator supports inpatient or outpatient coding teams by completing both overall and account-level quality reviews of coding functions. Audits assess staff adherence to inpatient or outpatient coding policies, procedures, and guidelines established by corporate leadership. Conduct initial audits during coder onboarding and ongoing quality assurance for coding staff. Review medical records and documentation for coding accuracy; provide feedback and education to correct inaccuracies and achieve industry best-practice performance. The value you'll bring to the team Complete timely and accurate quality assurance audits while adhering to policies and an audit schedule; translate results into practical recommendations to standardize audit policies and procedures. Use references such as ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, Official Coding Guidelines, CMS guidelines, NCCI, CPT Assistant, and AHA Coding Clinic to perform audits. Provide outcomes of coding quality audits to leadership. Maintain current knowledge of coding principles and industry trends; monitor potential organizational impact. Assist with scheduled external audits and respond to coding questions from coders/providers with official references. Create clear audit findings and recommendations for coders, auditors, managers, and directors. Provide feedback on escalated accounts and collaborate with providers, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams, and coding staff to resolve documentation and coding issues. Participate in Iodine Retrospect inpatient reviews in partnership with CDI as applicable. Contribute to quality data improvements and reporting, including dashboards and metrics, and support process changes and staff education. Serve as point person for regional HIM/Coding teams to support quality audits and maintain reports, scorecards, and dashboards that communicate data effectively. The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed Minimum qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Associates degree in HIM field or completion of a coding certificate program Five (5) or more years of relevant experience Current and maintained certification: CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC-P Additional information This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws.
