Prominent political and government law firm Kaufman Legal Group is seeking a full-time bookkeeper for its Los Angeles office to help manage client bank accounts and assist with client tax filings.
Responsibilities
Collecting/retrieving bank statements Reconciling client bank accounts on a monthly basis or as needed Setting up and maintaining QuickBooks databases for the firm’s clients Maintaining and balancing client general ledgers in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner Preparing financial reports for client accounts Auditing and verifying vendor information to prepare annual 1099s Compiling client data for outside accounting firm to file federal and state tax returns and assisting with filing those returns Preparing short-form tax returns for clients Experience & Skills required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice Solid understanding of accounting principles Proficient skills in Excel and QuickBooks High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work in fast-paced environment with email/Teams-heavy communication Law firm experience a plus but not required Salary and benefits
Salary range $75,000-$95,000, depending on experience Position may require overtime Benefits: 401k retirement plan; paid vacation and sick time; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; and paid parking This is a full-time position that requires a daily presence in our Los Angeles office.
