Staff Bookkeeper (Hybrid – Lakewood, CO)
Smith & Associates, P.C. is a CPA firm specializing in working with entrepreneurs in a variety of businesses. We provide monthly financial statements, tax planning, and tax preparation for S corporations, LLCs, and their individual returns.
Role Overview We’re hiring a Staff Bookkeeper focused on monthly financial statement preparation and reconciliations for multiple clients. You’re detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with our CPA team.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple business clients.
Tie out all bank accounts, credit cards, and loans each month.
Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers.
Draft journal entries (depreciation, accruals, payroll summaries).
Organize client files and assist with workpaper preparation.
Work independently with initiative; seek guidance as needed.
Qualifications Required:
2+ years bookkeeping experience (public accounting or multi-client preferred).
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Word.
Demonstrated skill in reconciliations and monthly close.
Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Able to work in-office 3 days/week (hybrid).
Preferred:
Familiarity with Practice CS, Accounting CS, FileCabinet CS, UltraTax.
Exposure to CO sales tax and payroll setup.
College degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
