The Hospitality Group operates a portfolio of more than 20 business class hotels with top brands from Intercontinental Hotel Groups, Marriott International, Hilton, and Best Western Hotels, including The Watermark Hotel, The Hay-Adams Hotel, and Perch Putt. These properties are operated by a team of more than 1,000 hospitality professionals. This position will assist the Controller in the financial activities of the company’s hotels in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group policy. They will support the accounting team in day-to-day tasks and train newly hired team members. This position coordinates activities of credit, billing and collection efforts, performs duties of general cashier, and other accounting functions as needed. Interacts with guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Responsibilities

Complete and/or assist team members with operations in accordance with published B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group accounting policies and procedures, including but not limited to: accounts receivable, income audit, accounts payable, payroll and general cashier duties. Review Night Audit work; insure posting accuracy; review all adjustments; reconcile credit card activity daily; review daily financial packet for GM and Controller review and approval. Perform Accounts Receivable tasks: process invoices on City Ledger, maintain aging report, follow up on past due receivables, respond to credit card inquiries and charge backs, process direct bill applications, and process deposits for groups and catering functions. Perform Accounts Payable tasks: process invoices through the automated accounts payable system; track department spending through purchase orders; review capital improvement project invoices and submit for payment; review and submit employee expense reports. Cash handling: count daily front desk and restaurant deposits, report cash over/shorts, prepare bank deposits, complete cash worksheet, and complete monthly bank and main safe counts. Payroll: review payroll records weekly for accuracy; ensure all additional employee compensation is approved by management; record approved sick and vacation time on time cards; input server tips to payroll system; compile and present final payroll package for GM and Controller review and approval. Month End Closing: complete checklist published by corporate office; ensure all accounting operations are completed prior to final deadline; GL and P&L statement review; participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Two year accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred. Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Prior hospitality experience desired with core competencies in accounts receivable, income audit, accounts payable, payroll and general cashier. Excellent computer knowledge with an understanding of Excel. Attention to detail, customer focused, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
