The Assistant Receiver will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to support warehouse operations including receiving, staging, replenishing, inventory control and ensuring all customer orders are completed. What You’ll Do
Support receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating and coordinating program, operational and personnel policies and procedures. Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the data storage system. Maintain physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and in compliance with AIB and NFS standards. Support workloads and productivity and ensure all receiving and put‑away is completed in a timely manner and inventory is maintained accurately. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements. Covers any other area of the warehouse as needed and supports day operations when day manager is not available. Record and document all appropriate documentation and report all discrepancies to AP, Purchasing and Operations Management. Ensure inbound trucks are properly scheduled and product is in a wholesome intact condition. Properly receive inbound loads, record entries accurately, and scan products properly according to the purchase order. Monitor product levels and rotation. Help stock, manage and locate inbound product. Support other warehouse functions when needed. Cleans and documents sanitation in receiving docks and supports cleanliness throughout warehouse. Complete warehouse operational requirements by finishing daily tasks and reporting appropriate receiving documents to AP and Operations Manager. Ensure lumping checks are received, logged appropriately and sent to accounting. Any other tasks assigned. About You
Leadership and able to work as a team. Knowledge of and demonstrated success in implementing best practices in distribution, with focus on receiving and inventory control. Ability to analyze and report on data to management in a clear, concise manner. Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities. Accurate with attention to detail. Strong communication and organization skills with superior work ethic. Judgment and decision‑making ability. Team player who works productively with a wide range of staff. Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and customer service skills. Ability to make decisions, problem‑solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in an ever‑changing warehouse environment. Proficiency with computer systems (Outlook, MS Excel) and ability to learn Canopy and other software as needed. Experience with process improvement and knowledge of best practices within receiving and inventory control.
