The Office of BEAR Central at Lenoir-Rhyne University seeks a graduate assistant to support academic success initiatives for student-athletes. This position oversees the student-athlete study hall program and provides academic coaching and support. The graduate assistant will work closely with Athletics and BEAR Central to ensure student-athletes receive the resources and guidance necessary to succeed academically.
Primary Responsibilities
Work 21 hours per week, including a combination of daytime and primarily evening hours in BEAR Central.
Oversee and manage the student-athlete study hall program during the fall and spring semesters.
Train and supervise evening study hall monitors, including managing scheduling and resolving scheduling conflicts.
Meet with student-athletes to provide academic coaching in areas such as time management, study strategies and goal setting.
Assist with planning and staffing evening academic support events hosted by BEAR Central.
Become proficient in the TracCloud platform to assist students and tutors with scheduling, check-ins and reporting.
Support BEAR Central and Athletics with additional student success initiatives as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Full-time enrollment in a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a small office setting.
Familiarity with social media platforms and multimedia content creation.
Experience with database management and Microsoft Office tools.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours, including Sundays, to meet program needs.
Work Schedule 21 hours per week, with the schedule determined in coordination with BEAR Central staff and based on program needs and availability.
