Responsible for managing counterparty risk from hedge funds to banks and corporates. Develop and evolve the existing risk management framework, working principally with management and Credit Risk but including corporate functions, IT, Quants, Legal, Compliance and Operations. Provide transparency to management on risks being taken, ongoing monitoring of client exposures, and significant market events. Products in purview include derivatives across all asset classes for client booked regionally in the US. Develop new margin and risk models and be part of an advocacy group with key industry developments such as SIMM. Support business enablement initiatives across the regions working closely with Sales, Trading, COOs and global risk teams. Assess new client portfolios and negotiate legal and margin terms. Monitor client trading limits and intraday activity / alerts. Salary information
US Only: The expected salary range for this role is $168750 to $206250 based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level. You’ll be working as part of the In-Business Risk team based in New York. Your expertise
Ideally 5+ years experience working within financial markets with a focus on risk management, trading or in a role with considerable exposure to the Prime Brokerage business area. Broad product knowledge of products, including cash prime brokerage and derivatives. Able to understand, quantify and summarize key risks of these products. Knowledge of operational risk associated to client executions and booking, including settlement risk. Knowledge of documentation and expectation of being able to negotiate with clients. Familiarity in main financial risk management models, such as stress testing and Value at Risk. Highly organized, hands-on and proactive, capable of distilling vast amounts of qualitative information into a quantitative framework to support decision making. Coding knowledge and regular use of Python, R, VBA, SQL or C++ is valuable. Bachelor, Master degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or in quantitative area such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering. Fluent in English. About us
