0 Position Summary: This position is responsible for preparing various forms of accounting, budgeting and analysis of complex accounting areas. Areas of focus include accounting related to ASC 260 Earnings per Share; ASC 323 Investments - Equity Method; ASC 715 Retirement Benefits; ASC 718 Stock Compensation; ASC 740 Income Taxes; ASC 805 Business Combinations; ASC 815 Derivatives and Hedging and sensitive accruals; and assist with preparing related disclosures for use in external financial reporting and working with internal and external audit and internal and external subject matter experts (e.g. tax, valuation, actuary, etc.). Other areas of responsibility include assisting the Technical Accounting Group in designing and implementing accounting, policy and process changes as a result of changes in the company and professional standards as well as other miscellaneous business transformation initiatives. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Preparation and review of earnings per share workpapers, including related diluted share calculations. Preparation and review of business combination and equity method investment workpapers with technical assistance from valuation specialists as needed, and accounting for related earnout and indemnity holdback liabilities. Preparation and review of pension workpapers, including working with the Benefits Group and actuary specialists. Preparation and review of stock-based compensation workpapers, including expense and related tax impact. Preparation and review of derivative and hedge accounting workpapers, including working with valuation and advisory specialists. Preparation and review of sensitive accruals such as self-insurance and incentives, including working with actuary and valuation specialists. Prepare month end accruals for a number of cost centers that are the responsibility of the Technical Accounting team. Forecasting and budget to actual analysis of items noted above. Assisting with researching, planning for and implementing new accounting standards, policies and processes. Documentation of accounting processes for SOX 404 compliance and working with Internal Audit Group and external auditors with ICFR certification and integrated audit procedures, respectively, as necessary. Assist with external accounting/advisory/valuation/actuary firm consultations on technical matters and discuss support with internal and external audit teams. Perform forecasting and budget to actual analysis. Prepare various reports and analysis for department and executive management. Maintain check lists to ensure all required journal entries are communicated in time for each reporting cycle. Job Specifications (Knowledge, skills and behaviors required to successfully perform job) Detail and deadline oriented; highly motivated; good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Education/Experience (Education level, years and type of experience required to successfully perform job) Bachelor’s degree in accountancy with 5-7 or more years of experience. Public accounting experience a plus; CPA licensed or working towards gaining the CPA.
