College Experience Assistant

at Yavapai College – Verde Valley Campus! This position is perfect for students who want to gain valuable, real-world experience while being the face of YC at campus and community events. As a College Experience Assistant, you’ll work closely with the college staff administration staff, students and the local community to help promote YC\'s mission and make campus life more welcoming and engaging. What You’ll Do

Be in the Know:

Learn and share all things YC – become a go-to resource for students and visitors. Campus Tours:

When required, assist Verde Valley Office Coordinator with preparing for a campus tours for new employees, faculty, community and stakeholders. Promote Campus Life:

Help with event planning, setup and cleanup- from social gatherings to outreach efforts. Keep Campus Informed:

Update bulletin boards and distribute posters. Uphold YC Values: Identify and report any visible issues on campus that may compromise safety, appearance, or overall integrity. Support Our Students:

Replenish free snacks, donated by Manzanita Outreach, located in common areas of the buildings. Represent YC at Events

Work alongside the Verde Valley Campus Coordinator to help plan and run events. Welcome guests, answer questions and be a positive, friendly face of YC. Work with diverse groups of people both on and off campus. Occasionally assist at the Verde Valley Campus and Sedona Center during special events. Attend training and team meetings. Strong Communication Skills : Ability to clearly share information, answer questions, and engage with students, staff and visitors in a positive and professional manner. Interpersonal Skills : Friendly, approachable and respectful when working with diverse individuals and groups both on and off campus. Team Collaboration : Willingness to work closely with college staff and volunteers in planning and executing campus events. Reliability and Responsibility : Dependable with strong follow-through; able to show up on time and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Initiative and Problem-Solving : Proactively identify and report issues on campus that could affect student experience or college integrity. Adaptability and Flexibility : Comfortable assisting at various locations, adapting to different tasks and adjusting to changing needs or schedules. Attention to Detail : Ensure accurate and timely posting of campus materials, maintaining clean and organized common areas. Basic Event Support Skills : Ability to assist with setup, cleanup and general logistics for campus events, tours, and outreach activities. Time Management : Capable of balancing job duties with academic responsibilities, managing priorities effectively. Cultural Awareness : Open-minded and respectful of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Campus Knowledge or Willingness to Learn : Familiarity with YC’s programs, services, and campus layout—or an eagerness to learn quickly and share that knowledge with others. The start date, to occur no sooner than July 1st of the current aid year, of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired. This position has a standard end of assignment date of June 30th of the current aid year. Assignment may end sooner or be extended depending FWS eligibility, availability and/or department need.
