Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. **POSITION SPECIFICS**The laboratory of Assistant Professor Lukas Muechler in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill one **postdoctoral research** position in the field of computational and theoretical chemistry.Research will involve the modeling of molecular materials based on model and ab-initio calculations. Projects will include, but are not limited to, and the topological characterization of molecules and chemical reactions as well as development of structure-to-property rules and nonadiabatic dynamics for electrocyclization reactions.The ideal postdoctoral candidate will have extensive experience in one or more of the following fields: computational chemistry, multi-reference quantum chemistry, nonadiabatic dynamics or metadynamics.The applicant must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts. The individual should be highly self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts. Interested and qualified applicants must submit applications electronically to include a cover letter describing your background, prior training, and research interests, as well as a CV which includes a list of publications.Following a screening of these initial application materials, appropriate candidates will be contacted by email and asked to arrange for letters of recommendation to be sent so that they might be considered further.
